The Neponset River and Pope John Paul II Park in Dorchester Massachusetts.
The park re-connects area residents to the resources of their unique and delicate river estuary by offering picnic facilities, soccer fields, play areas, paths for walking, restored salt marsh, and extensive plantings of native trees and shrubs. The DCR's restoration of the formerly degraded, contaminated site has also benefited area wildlife: black ducks, mergansers, teal, Snowy Egrets, and Great Blue Herons, have been spotted at the park since it opened in June, 2001.
The park was named after the former Pope John Paul the second.
Brian MacLean is the father of two children. He is a local Massachusetts photographer who discovered his passion for photography 20 years ago after using his brothers camera. Brian enjoys shooting nature and landscape. He tries to capture the raw reality of nature, the fleeting beauty of those in-between moments, and try's to do his very best to take every picture with that in mind. He wants his viewers to relate to his photographs through recognition of and familiarity with the places, the emotions, and the energy as they are looking at a picture of a place that they may know.
