The Blue Hill Meteorological Observatory, also known as Great Blue Hill Weather Observatory or Blue Hill Weather Observatory sits atop Great Blue Hill which at 635 feet its the not only the highest point of elevation among the twenty two hills that comprise the Blue Hills Reservation in Milton Massachusetts but also the highest point within ten miles of the ocean along the east coast of the United States south of Maine.
The Observatory was founded in 1884 and is still in operation today making it one of the oldest continually active weather and climate monitoring stations in the United States.
Brian MacLean is the father of two children. He is a local Massachusetts photographer who discovered his passion for photography 20 years ago after using his brothers camera. Brian enjoys shooting nature and landscape. He tries to capture the raw reality of nature, the fleeting beauty of those in-between moments, and try's to do his very best to take every picture with that in mind. He wants his viewers to relate to his photographs through recognition of and familiarity with the places, the emotions, and the energy as they are looking at a picture of a place that they may know.
