Description
Chatham Lighthouse Beach sits below the watchful gaze of Chatham Light, an active lighthouse at the Coast Guard Station that aids in the navigation of Chatham waters.
Chatham Lighthouse Beach is the largest beach in town. Only a half mile from downtown, this beautiful expanse of sand offers nature walks out to southern Monomoy Islands plus views of the daily migration routes of Chatham's many seals and fishing boats. During the warm summer months when water temperatures increase sightings of great while sharks around the beach increase and sometimes close the beach to swimmers for a time.
